Why remove image metadata?
Protect your location
Smartphone photos contain GPS coordinates that reveal exactly where you were. Remove this data to prevent location tracking.
Hide device information
EXIF reveals camera model, phone type, and software. Stripping metadata prevents others from identifying your devices.
Remove AI provenance
Some generators embed C2PA metadata identifying AI-generated images. This tool can strip that marker from the file.
What metadata gets removed?
The remover clears all embedded metadata ExifTool can strip: EXIF (camera settings, GPS, timestamps), IPTC (copyright, captions, keywords), XMP (extended properties, licensing), and C2PA content provenance.
After processing, the download contains pixel data — no hidden information about where, when, how, or by whom the photo was taken. Visual quality is preserved.
This matters on forums, marketplaces, dating apps, or any public platform where location or device information is a risk. Format-specific caveat: PNG often has little EXIF; JPEG from a phone is the typical high-risk file.
If you need to keep copyright but drop GPS only, use the EXIF editor instead of a full wipe.
